How long should I do The 4 Minute Max Outs for?

How long have you got?

It all depends on you, your goals, and your circumstance. How long have you got? If you are short of time, then it purely depends on how long you've got. If time is not an issue, then it depends on your goal and or how sadistic you are feeling. The preset workouts times in The 4 Minute Max Outs are 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, and 28 minutes.

The Max Out Minute Plans.

4 minute plans are for inserting into other routines, beginners to exercise that want to build up their routine gradually, or for those very very short on time on the basis that anything is always better than nothing.

8 and 12 minute plans are quickies for when you are short of time and for beginners to exercise that want to build up their routine gradually.

16 and 20 minute plans are for maintenance and good gains.

24 and 28 minute plans are for excellent gains and a very high calorie burn.

Then, after selecting your duration, you select your focus. There are 32 different workout structures to choose from depending on what you want to do.

Schedules.

The Max Out Schedules use the above plans to create a quick path to your goal, whether it be burning fat and toning up, or maximising strength and muscle gains when using The 4 Minute Max Outs. The path is all laid out for you if that's what you want to achieve. All you have to do is go the distance doing the best that you can do. The 'Create Your Own' page also goes through the key points you need to consider when creating your own schedules towards various goals.

Custom workouts.

You can also create your own custom duration workout simply by doing plans back to back or using The Max Out Mixer to create your own. With over 70 4 Minute Max Outs to mix thing up with, you'll never be short of ways to break through plateaus. The possibilities are endless, but importantly, in a way where you wont get lost in options and menus. With The 4 Minute Max Outs you are only ever a few clicks away from an amazing workout.

You are the only limit.

You don't need to restrict yourself to 28 minutes. Obviously the longer you go for the more calories you burn, the more fitness boundaries you break for yourself. By all means go over 30 minutes if you can. Basically, you are the only limit. But be warned. It wont be easy! But if you want the challenge, if you want to find out how fit you really are, and if you think you can do it, just go for it!

Stacking plans.

The 4 Minute Max Outs app deliberately keeps things simple to get you quickly into each workout instead of wasting your time twiddling your thumbs flicking through endless menus and graphs etc. So it's very quick and easy to stack up plans back to back. For instance you could have a 28 minute workout that consists of a 12 minute and 16 minute plan back to back. Or if you are feeling insane and think you can manage to work out for an hour doing this you could do 5 different 12 minute plans. The combinations are endless to make for even more variety in your workouts that will differ slightly every time anyway, whilst always still providing focus and structure for results.

Extra challenge?

An extra Challenge Max Out is also always thrown at you at the end of each workout in case you want more than planned. And there are also such things as Super Max Outs and Sports Max Outs for the ultimate full body workout with maximum variety. What was that? The 4 Minute Max Outs have gone super now? Yes they have. The Super Max Outs contain single sets from the other 4 Minute Max Outs for maximum full body variety and conditioning. And if you can finish that, you have every right to boast about your achievement on Twitter and Facebook. If you have any energy left at all after that, and assuming you are not lying on it recovering, you should pat yourself on the back, that is a serious fitness achievement.

Do the best that you can.

So by all means go over 30 minutes if you can or want to, but 20 to 30 minutes a night is the suggested target time for excellent gains. Likewise, if you don't have the time for that, then obviously doing what you can is always better than doing nothing. Just make sure you get it done, for as long as you can, and the best that you can, and the best results that you can get will follow.
